Additional assistance to support humanitarian demining in Ukraine

At the Ukraine Recovery Conference, the participating countries announced an additional allocation of more than $ 35 million to support humanitarian demining in Ukraine. This brings the total commitment of Ukraine’s partner countries to more than $ 850 million in equivalent funding, covering humanitarian demining projects until 2027.

Among the countries that have announced additional funding is Germany, which will finance seven projects in cooperation with partners in Ukraine. For 2024, the German government has allocated an additional €20 million, including €1 million for a pilot project with the Danish Refugee Council and the international organization Humanity & Inclusion.

Sweden has also announced an additional $ 9 million to increase the capacity of state institutions to train their own demining units.

Belgium has allocated 2 million euros for joint projects with UNDP and FAO in the field of humanitarian demining.
